Museum displays, replica props, and interactive showcases are always a thrill to be involved with as we have a motto at JelcoProps- 'Education Through Entertainment'. These projects can vary greatly in their scope, from Living History to Education to Science Fiction and more. Each one requires its own unique creativity to clearly convey its desired tone, capture the imagination of viewers on a steady basis, while remaining within budget. Some are whimsical, some meaningful, some historical, some even hysterical. It can be a set with restored vehicles and a theme, such as this Tank scenario -

         An historic medieval setting ~

Or even in a galaxy far, far away.....

We also create mobile displays .. such as this extremely detailed, living WWII Pacific Island Set for the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum complete with 20ft palms, Quonset hut, working radar and radios, and built-in 'strafe effect' simulating an air strike with bullet-ridden walls, exploding crates and drums spurting oil ~

What makes a set or museum showcase stand out?
It's in the ..

On stage, TV, LH, even film to an extent, you can get away with less intricacy. However with museum displays, where visitors can stand and scrutinize, it's all about details! And that's one of Jelco's specialties. It adds character, life, and historical resonance.  There's always someone who notices the smallest details!

When creating bullet-ridden oil barrels for a WWII event, Vets who served overseas noticed the tiny and accurate numbers we added, they praised the realistic devastation, and even the 'smell' of the gas & oil ~

PTO Vets recounted their wartime service via this QM Unit built within a previously bombed-out stone structure
(based on actual photos from 1944) and were captivated by smoldering, smoking timber effects

No matter the setting or theme- past, present or future - it's all in the passion we have for artistic details.

Where this..                                 becomes this..                                         and this..

Where this..                                 becomes this..                                         and this!

Everything begins in the mind. Today's audiences require 'something that moves' in order to draw their attention. Animatronics, kinetic sculptures, flashing panels, interactive 3D worlds they can step into. Something memorable, something that places them 'there', something that moves them. Once you have their attention, you awaken their imagination and the learning process begins. Each museum has its own approach to creating displays. Some of our clients require CAD drawings and schematics approved by committees while others rely on a more free-flowing approach that allows for the spontaneous flair of the artist, and there's a wide range in between ~ but ALL of them are trying to reach the imagination of the viewer. Our artists add those individualized, passionate sparks that bring visitors back time and again.
